YOU'RE INVITED!

POSSIBLE CHANGES
Miami-Dade County has been asked by the developer of the Treo Project to allow changes in the plan that was approved several years ago. The first part of the approved plan for student housing above the Metrorail garage has been completed. The second part of that plan had been for a mixed-use eight-story building including student housing units, office and commercial space. Now they are asking for "minor modifications" to build a thirteen-story building for 262 student housing units with ground floor retail space.

If this proposal is approved, it will mean that a 13-story building will be sitting on the NW corner of Sunset Drive and US 1 where the "French Fry" sculpture currently sits.

Above, the proposed footprint of the building is colored lavender. The office building across 59th Place on Sunset is about eight stories high.
At some point a public hearing will be scheduled. The application number is Z2021000210. to register to receive notifications at key steps in the process, including when a hearing is scheduled, go to https://miamidade.live/MDC-ZoningHearing.
